At last, we are all home together as a family! Keith and I brought Hunter home on Friday after spending 28 days in TCH's NICU. The nurses, doctors, and staff at TCH were outstanding, and we will be forever grateful for all their care and support provided to our son and us throughout our stay.
We are thankful for Hunter's progress over the last week. On Monday, the doctors decided to let Hunter try all eight feedings on his own. By Wednesday, he was taking all of them easily and increasing in the amount. Awesome! He's now up to 2 ounces or more a feeding and doing great.
On Monday, we went to our pediatrician for a follow-up and everything look good from a neonatology standpoint. Hunter now needs to continue to grow and develop. He's reached 5 pound 5 oz. We will meet with cardiology next week at TCH for another echocardiogram and chest xray. The cardiology team will continue to follow Hunter and his progress. He's currently on a couple medications to help maintain his blood pressure, remodeling of the heart with growth, and anticoagulants. We will continue to pray that the aneurysm will not grow as his heart develops and remodels with enlargement. Hunter heart, despite the aneurysm, is functioning at a borderline/normal range. (huge praise) At this point, what to expect in the future is still very unknown, but we know our family is in God's hands.
At home, we are loving on our son and keeping up with Hunter eating, sleeping, and more...Hannah loves her baby brother and is a great big sis.
We are so grateful for the prayers of family and friends and ask for continued prayers for our son's heart and health. Thank you could never be enough for all the support we received from our family and friends to help us through our stay at TCH.
